notes & things | 6/12/2026

It's been a rainy and stormy week, which last night, culminated in a brief power outage in the storefront theater where we were seeing a production of THE LAST 5 YEARS. It was touch and go for a minute, but they did manage to get up and running again despite having to reset everything. The other night, after an earlier storm, we wound up driving around a lot of streets blocked by fallen trees and branches. Last night, it was enormous puddles and hidden potholes. It's that part of June that is running upper 80s, maybe even 90s, but then breaks in enormous storms in the afternoons. It occurred to me we are running up on the week before our anniversary, and like last year, the weather is getting inhospitable to too much time outside (and thus why we wound up moving the festivities indoors instead the park.) This year, we are spending part of the celebratory weekend back out in Woodstock to see a production at the Woodstock Opera House for another musical (ROCK OF AGES.) J has to work Saturday night, so we'll have to get back to the city, but we plan a nice dinner on Sunday and maybe a movie. While this June is definitely less hectic than last, it still is clipping along and nearly a third of the way in, which means the solstice is fast approaching. The nights are already long and lingering and still have light in the sky around 9pm. This week,

I am in editorial mode on my own projects. The final version for the printed proof for MARRY KISS KILL has been ordered and should be in my hands in about a week. If all looks good, I will be ready to order copies to have them around the beginning of July, so I am actually slightly ahead of schedule. There are a few more chapbooks coming as well from this season that are drifting into summer. I am also working on some more journals and prints, including some cute additions to some blind boxes I have been plotting. The other task for this weekend is final edits on the script ALL THE BEST LOVE SONGS..., which has a couple lingering typos and format tweaks I kept missing in earlier editing stages.

I also have a couple little ideas for projects brewing including an e-zine for June that will be coming later in the month and some new collages I've been sharing a bit over on IG (see above). I am hoping this weekend to put the final layout touches on the eco-gothic anthology, which I am planning to get into the world by mid-July.
