Read this:
an interview with Calyx founding editor, Margarita Donnelly. The statistics an percentages in that first paragraph are enough to make me nauseous. Only 25% in small press publishing? WTF? I did some tallies on presses that I like and damn, we're lucky if it's a quarter. Even presses run and maintained, I know, by women editors. I don't know if there's an easy answer on how to fix it. I don't think it's any sort of purposeful neglect on their part, but how can this happen?
